About the Role
At The Clean Culture, we help clients restore their homes and their peace of mind in some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We're looking for a dependable, compassionate Residential Cleaner to support our team.
Most days involve standard residential cleaning. Some days involve more: hoarding situations, mould, pest infestations, or biohazard cleanup. This can be physically demanding work that makes a genuine difference for the people we serve, and we make sure you're trained and supported every step of the way.
If you take pride in hard work, stay calm under pressure, and want to be part of a team that treats every client with dignity, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Perform thorough residential cleaning, including standard, deep, and specialty cleans
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials (mould, bodily fluids, animal waste) following strict safety protocols
- Use professional-grade equipment and cleaning products correctly and safely
- Work closely with your team to prioritize tasks and get the job done right
- Wear all required PPE and follow every safety protocol, every time
- Bring patience and professionalism into emotionally difficult situations
- Lift and transport equipment and materials of 40 lbs or more
What You'll Need
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Reliability, punctuality, and genuine attention to detail
- Comfort working in a variety of environments including hoarded, cluttered, or unsanitary environments (training provided; prior experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
- Physical ability to lift 40+ lbs regularly and stand/bend for extended periods
- Willingness to follow PPE and hygiene protocols without exception
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation (preferred)
- Successful completion of a background check
The Work Environment
We believe in being upfront. This role includes exposure to strong odours, pests, mould, bodily fluids, and animal waste, and it can mean supporting clients who are in distress or living in extreme conditions. It's physically demanding and, at times, emotionally heavy work.
That's why we invest in:
- Full PPE, provided at minimual cost to you
- Hands-on safety and biohazard-handling training before you're on your own
- A team culture where no one handles the hard jobs alone
Why Join The Clean Culture
- Real support: Leaders and teammates who have your back on tough jobs
- Training and growth: a clear path toward lead cleaner, trainer, or supervisor roles
- Meaningful work: you'll walk out of homes knowing you changed someone's day, sometimes their life
Contractor Terms
This is a contract-for-services role; you'll be engaged as an independent contractor, not an employee. Here's what that means:
- You're responsible for your own income tax filing and remitting both the employer and employee portions of CPP; no source deductions are made from your pay
- No vacation pay, EI premiums, or employee benefits are included, consistent with contractor status
- You are free to accept or decline specific job bookings
- A written independent contractor agreement will be provided and must be signed before your first booking
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
