Position: Logistics Dispatch Coordinator (Entry Level)
Shift#1 :MONDAY TO FRIDAY 1PM TO 9PM
Shift#2: TUESDAY TO FRIDAY 5AM TO 1PM, SATURDAY 8AM TO 4PM
Priority Logistics Inc. is an asset based intermodal service provider with offices across Canada. We offer Intermodal and over the road LTL/TL service from all the points within Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec.
Job Description
A logistics coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, as well as scheduling pick up and delivery appointments.
Additionally, a logistics coordinator is well-versed in supply management as well as transportation principles and practices. Responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and notifying them of any delays in the pickup and delivery schedule is essential to this position.
Able to manage employees by delegating tasks and training staff if required.
Minimum 1-year experience in transportation is required in a Logistics Coordinator Position.
Training will be provided, we are looking for candidates who are looking for an opportunity to prove themselves and grown within our organization. The ideal candidate will be motivated and self-driven person.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Answer emails as well as phone calls
- Schedule, consolidate pick up and delivery appointments
- Confirm billing amounts are correct by verifying freight bills
- Enter and Information is entered accurately into company database of pick ups
- Track shipments that are assigned.
- Data Entry
- Route Planning
- Building and maintaining relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and managing freight dispatching
- Managing all inbound and outbound activities for the assigned routes
- Maintaining communication with the customer throughout the duration of an order, reporting both positive and negative occurrences
- Working with multiple departments to ensure seamless operations, managing workflows
- Tracking and communication with the drivers for their ETA's or resolving any issues.
Required Education:
Minimum High School, Post Secondary Degree is preferred
Skills and Abilities Required
- and show initiative with ability to learn quickly, and work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to adapt and adjust, strong multi-task skills and shows an ability to work in a fast-paced environment when required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize
- Strives to be a highly efficient team player with a positive personality
- Working knowledge of all North American transportation services; LTL, TL, Intermodal and highway transportation modes.
- Intermodal experience (dealing with CN Rail and CP Rail is an asset)
- Excellent command of English (both written and verbal)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Typing speed of 40 WPM (test will be taken)
- Familiar with the GTA and surrounding area (knowledge of Montreal is an asset)
