Position Overview
The STEAMOJI Facilitator is responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning experiences to children and youth through the STEAMOJI program.
Facilitators guide students through robotics, coding, engineering design, and creative problem-solving activities in a fun, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. The role focuses on facilitation rather than lecturing, encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and confidence.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery
- Facilitate STEAMOJI workshops, classes, and activities for children and youth
- Guide students through hands-on projects involving robotics, coding, electronics, engineering, and creative design
- Encourage inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and problem-solving
- Adapt activities to different age groups, skill levels, and learning styles
Student Engagement & Support
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Support students individually and in small groups
- Foster teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking
- Encourage curiosity and confidence in STEAM subjects
Classroom & Equipment Management
- Set up, organize, and clean up materials, tools, and equipment
- Ensure safe use of tools, electronics, and devices
- Maintain basic care of robotics kits, components, and learning materials
Communication & Professionalism
- Communicate clearly and positively with students, parents, and program coordinators
- Follow lesson plans while remaining flexible and responsive
- Provide feedback on student progress and program effectiveness
- Uphold STEAMOJI values, policies, and child-safety standards
Qualifications & SkillsRequired / Preferred
- Experience working with children or youth (education, tutoring, camps, mentoring, or facilitation)
- Interest in STEAM fields such as robotics, coding, engineering, or creative technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain concepts in a simple, engaging, age-appropriate way
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
Assets (Not Mandatory)
- Background in STEAM education, engineering, computer science, robotics, or design
- Experience with robotics kits, coding platforms, or maker tools
- Teaching, facilitation, or classroom experience
- First Aid / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
