Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Kirtan Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Gurbani Kirtan, harmonium, and tabla, along with the ability to teach students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 in a structured, engaging, and values‑aligned manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Gurbani Kirtan, including shabads, raags (if applicable), and proper pronunciation.
- Provide instruction in harmonium and tabla, ensuring students learn correct techniques.
- Prepare age‑appropriate lesson plans and practice materials.
- Train students for school programs, assemblies, and special events.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with school leadership and Gurmat teachers for integrated learning.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to parents when required.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Gurbani Kirtan and Sikh musical traditions.
- Proficiency in harmonium and tabla.
- Prior teaching experience with children or youth is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, respectful teaching style.

- Ability to plan, organize, and manage classroom activities effectively.
