We are a tight-knit team looking for the next person to join us. This position will clean and maintain all general/common areas and rooms for our 19 residences. The Housekeeper participates in the maintenance of a safe, sanitary workplace; including WHMIS. The Housekeeper reports resident concerns, building emergencies, and maintenance required. Although you will wear multiple hats this is not a high stressed role. This role can be filled by an experienced housekeeper who has previous experience in a care home setting or a person who is keen to fill this role. Full training will be provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Carries out general cleaning duties, practicing and maintaining established standards for
proper cleanliness as sanitation required by the Health Department
o Daily tidying & cleaning of Common Areas and daily cleaning of resident’s suites
including kitchen, bathroom, vacuuming and dusting
o Spot cleaning for spills as needed
o Emptying of Garbage and recycling daily
o Deep clean when suite is vacated
o Extra cleaning duties may be required if suspected Infectious Disease Outbreak
o Thorough cleaning in each suite as scheduled
o Communicates necessary information to other staff in a timely manner
o Must work effectively in a team environment
o Communicates to leader any concerns, changes in resident’s condition.
o Is familiar and rehearsed in emergency procedures
o Must demonstrate good organizational/time management skills, ability to multi- task
o Know and follows health & safety requirements affecting the job, corrects unsafe
conditions immediately and report them to the supervisor
o Uphold all work safe practices
o Daily laundry, washing drying and folding
o Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships among staff and
residents and their families
o Other relevant duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Experience in Housekeeping or similar experience
o Excellent communication skills demonstrated by tact, diplomacy, empathy, patience and
concern in providing quality service
o A good command of the English language, both oral and written skills
o Ability to take direction and learn procedures
o Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
o Ability to use housekeeping tools such as laundry machines, vacuum cleaners etc.
