Bay City Contractors is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of mechanical principles and extensive experience operating a wide range of heavy equipment.
This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of our construction projects. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating machinery to complete tasks while adhering to stringent safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment, including loaders, graders, bulldozers, and excavators.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to optimize performance.
- Execute tasks related to excavating, grading, and utility work in accordance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to construct and maintain project sites effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues with equipment during operations.
- Maintain precise records of equipment usage and project progress.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on machinery.
- Experience with commercial driving is advantageous.
- Familiarity with specific equipment operations, such as loader operation, grader operation, bulldozing, and excavator operation.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project demands.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork in all aspects of work.
AZ and DZ Licence would be a great bonus!
