Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Analyst, Asset Management to join our team. The Analyst supports the performance, reporting, and optimization of the real estate portfolio through financial analysis, market research, and standardized reporting. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate data, maintaining reporting tools, and supporting asset-level and portfolio-wide decision-making.
Working closely with the Manager, Asset Management, this role contributes to performance monitoring, business planning, and strategic initiatives by providing reliable analysis and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Support analysis of property and portfolio performance, including operational and financial results
- Assist in preparing recurring reports, including performance summaries, variance analysis, and KPI tracking
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of data across reporting tools and systems
- Contribute to preparation of presentations and reporting materials for internal stakeholders
Financial Analysis & Modeling Support
- Assist in development and maintenance of financial models, including cash flow analysis and basic valuations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
- Validate data inputs and assumptions to ensure integrity of financial outputs
- Contribute to analysis that supports asset optimization and performance improvement
Market Research & Insights
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support asset strategies
- Track rental trends, supply and demand dynamics, and market conditions
- Provide insights to support pricing, positioning, and operational decisions
Transaction & Asset Support
- Support due diligence processes for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing activities
- Assist in organizing financial, operational, and market data for asset reviews
- Maintain accurate documentation related to asset performance and transactions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Accounting, Leasing, Property Management, Development, and Investments teams to gather and validate data
- Support alignment between financial analysis and operational performance
- Respond to ad hoc data requests and analysis needs
Process & Data Improvement
- Support development and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and data processes
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical outputs
- Contribute to continuous improvement of asset management practices and tools
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate (ideal but not mandatory).
- 1 year of related experience; or relevant work-term in a financial/investment institution, real estate firm, development, or construction firm.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret relevant transactional and financial statements and information.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
