Senior Electromechanical Technician / Technologist

Summary
We are a startup working on a novel imaging instrument. We are looking for an experienced Senior Electromechanical Technician / Technologist to join us and play a key role in building, integrating, testing, and refining the instrument. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with complex electromechanical systems, solving challenging technical problems, contributing directly to the development of a groundbreaking scientific instrument, and helping shape the direction of the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electronic design and simulation.
- Integrate precision electromechanical subsystems.
- Build, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot prototype and production instruments.
- Develop and document assembly procedures and test methods.
- Identify design and manufacturing improvements.
- Occasionally support customer installations or field service activities.
- Help in establishing scalable manufacturing and service processes.
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of experience building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems. Strong in:
- CAD, mechanical drawings, mechanical assembly and integration
- Electronics design, microcontrollers, PCB design, electronics assembly and integration
- Prototyping, problem-solving
- Testing, troubleshooting, iteration
- Documentation, communication, teamwork
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Scientific instrumentation
- Semiconductor equipment
- Robotics or automation
- Medical devices
Education
We welcome applicants with a diploma or degree in:

Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with background and experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Pay: $5,000.00-$7,000.00 per month
