General Labourer (Bakery & Store Operations)
Vicinity Mart is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated General Labourer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build a career in the food retail and bakery industry.
No previous bakery experience is required—we provide comprehensive training. If you're interested in learning bakery production, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and potentially advance into a Bakery Team Member position.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the store and bakery.
- Wash bakery trays, pans, utensils, and equipment while maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Assist the bakery team with preparation, packaging, and other production tasks.
- Move products, ingredients, and supplies throughout the store.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and general housekeeping.
- Support different departments as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work efficiently with team members to ensure daily tasks are completed on time.
Qualifications
- Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Flexible and available to work different shifts based on business needs.
- Available to start shifts as early as 4:00 AM or 9:00 AM, depending on the position.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Previous experience in a bakery, grocery store, warehouse, food production, or general labour is an asset but not required.
