Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency with industry-standard estimating software. The Construction Estimator will play a vital role in securing new projects and maintaining profitable operations.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and market research to ensure accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather competitive bids and negotiate terms.
- Prepare bid packages, compile cost summaries, and present estimates for review.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating activities for future reference and audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other industry-standard estimating tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong project management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple bids simultaneously.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies, market trends, and cost analysis techniques.
- Construction experience is highly preferred; relevant educational background in construction management or related fields is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills to produce accurate estimates that align with project goals.
