Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role involves coordinating service appointments, communicating effectively with customers and technicians, and ensuring a positive service experience. Previous dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and strong customer service skills are highly valued to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming environment.
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service requests.
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs, leveraging mechanical knowledge when necessary.
- Prepare work orders, estimate costs, and communicate timelines clearly to customers.
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle needs while maintaining integrity and transparency.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including payments for services rendered.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any additional needs.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and sales activities.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not required; automotive repair or mechanic experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle issues and communicate effectively with technicians.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services while maintaining ethical standards.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
