Line Cook – Summer 2026
Refuge Dockside Kitchen | Desolation Sound, BC
Seasonal Position – June-September
Sense of Place:
We are located on West Redonda Island in Refuge Cove, in the heart of Desolation Sound - a world-renowned yachting and sailing destination known for calm anchorages, warm swimming waters, fishing, and kayaking. Our approximately 70-seat patio overlooks Refuge Cove marina, one of Desolation Sound’s most beloved provisioning hubs and a favourite gathering place for locals spending their summers in the area, as well as travellers passing through.
We serve an elevated casual menu focused on quality, highlighting local seafood, seasonal produce, and fresh ingredients sourced as close to home as possible. Throughout the season we host special events including live music, guest chefs, and community traditions such as the annual fishing derby.
We operate a hybrid counter-service model in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, requiring efficiency, teamwork, and strong communication across both front and back of house.
Compensation & Perks
- Starting at $22/hour (based on experience)
- Even tip split between FOH and BOH based on hours worked
- Staff housing included
- Three prepared staff meals daily
- 6 days on / 1 day off
- 48–60 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Execute assigned station
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Support team during peak service
- Uphold food quality and consistency standards
Qualifications
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens
- Food Safe certification required
- Strong work ethic and team mindset
- Desire for growth within the kitchen team
