We are looking for an experienced Shop Manager to lead our production team, drive operational excellence, and help us continue delivering exceptional craftsmanship on every project.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and taking ownership of a busy custom manufacturing operation.
What You'll Do
As Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our manufacturing facility, including:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing shop employees
- Planning and coordinating daily production schedules
- Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Managing labour allocation and workflow
- Monitoring quality to ensure work meets company and AWMAC standards
- Working closely with Project Managers, Programming, Procurement, and Installation teams
- Identifying production bottlenecks and implementing process improvements
- Managing equipment maintenance and shop organization
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment
- Promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the shop
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial architectural millwork or custom woodworking
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential millwork construction methods and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read architectural drawings and shop drawings
- Experience managing production schedules and multiple custom projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP/manufacturing software such as Microvellum, Innergy, or similar is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
