Summary
We are seeking skilled Equipment Operator/Labourers to join our dynamic team in Orillia. This role is vital in ensuring the successful execution of paving and maintenance projects, contributing to our company's reputation for quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Operate paving equipment--to include, but not limited to: Skid Steer Loaders, Mini-Excavators, Asphalt Rollers, Plate Compactors, and Asphalt Spreaders; safely and efficiently on various paving construction sites.
- Assist with all aspects of asphalt preparatory work and asphalt paving, in addition to other pavement maintenance tasks.
- Follow project plans and safety protocols to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with equipment & vehicle maintenance, and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with loading, securing, and off-loading equipment & materials.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Support traffic control setup and removal where required.
- Support site preparation and cleanup activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in equipment operation within the construction or paving industry.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and pavement repair techniques is an asset.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy machinery.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License is preferred.
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks.
- Prior experience with land grading & asphalt paving projects is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina for loading/unloading cargo.
- WHMIS Certification is required, and is offered through our internal employee-onboarding process.
- Must be able to read, write & speak English.
- Must be able to communicate over CB Radio, Two-Way Radio & Cellular Devices.

Physical Requirements
- Heavy lifting.

- Willingness to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as required. Most Shifts are (8) - (10) hours in length, Monday - Friday, with some overtime hours as business demands.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including, but not limited to: extreme heat & cold, wet/damp conditions, exposure to dust, noise, fumes, & gases.
