About Us
Matthews + Associates is a retirement-focused wealth management firm in Peterborough, Ontario, operating under Aligned Capital Partners Inc. (ACPI) as broker-dealer. We manage roughly $110M for about 110 households. We run as a single advisory pod today and are building toward multiple pods as we scale, so this is an early, foundational seat on a growing team.
What makes us different: we are advice-first and education-led, not product-led. Our portfolios follow an evidence-based investment philosophy. Planning runs on Conquest, and our client experience follows a defined process (the True Wealth Roadmap). Our education brand, Retirement Planning Simplified, runs a podcast, YouTube channel and website that drive inbound interest. We are building a structured, career-tracked team so people can see exactly how they grow here, which is unusual for a firm our size.
Who we serve
Canadians aged roughly 50 to 70 approaching or in retirement, typically with $1M to $10M in investable assets. The work is genuine retirement and decumulation planning: income, tax, estate and transition. Clients come to us for clarity and ongoing advice, so the whole team is oriented around service quality and long-term relationships rather than transactions.
