Farm Administrator — Northland Farms Ltd. | Chilliwack, BC
Northland Farms is a Chilliwack fresh-produce grower supplying radishes and green onions to major Western Canadian retailers. We're small, hands-on, and growing — expanding acreage, adding SKUs, and opening new markets.
We're hiring a Farm Administrator to run the administrative engine of the farm and act as the right hand to our General Manager.
This is a broad job. You'll own food safety records, migrant labour program paperwork, inventory and purchasing, shipping and receiving documentation, and general office administration. Some days you're auditing food safety logs. Some days you're chasing a late pallet. Some days you're in the truck picking up a part so the pack line doesn't stop.
If you need a fixed job description and a quiet inbox, this isn't it. If you like being the person who figures it out, it is.
What you'll own
- Food safety & compliance — maintain the CanadaGAP program, records, SOPs and traceability; prepare for and support audits; keep licences and certifications current
- Migrant labour programs — SAWP / TFWP administration end-to-end: LMIAs, work permits, contracts, arrivals, housing, MSP, renewals, and audit-ready worker files
- Inventory & procurement — track packaging, inputs and supplies; source, quote, order and follow up; manage suppliers and reconcile POs and invoices
- Shipping & receiving — BOLs, packing slips, lot tags, carrier and broker coordination, and lot-level traceability
- Office & executive support — support the GM with calendars, correspondence and follow-ups; keep the office running; run local errands and pickups
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in an administrative, coordinator or office management role — agriculture, food production or logistics preferred
- Hands-on food safety experience (Canada GAP, HACCP, GFSI or similar)
- Working knowledge of SAWP / TFWP / LMIA administration (an asset)
- A genuine problem-solver — you come back with solutions, not problems
- Efficient, organized, and able to keep several threads moving without being chased
- Easy to deal with: calm, direct, low-drama, good with people at every level
- Someone who wants to work for a small company where the work is visible and matters
- Valid BC driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to have: third-party audit experience · produce shipping/DRC documentation · QuickBooks or payroll exposure · conversational Spanish would be nice to have.
What we offer
- $60,000 – $75,000 per year, based on experience
- Full-time, permanent, year-round
- Extended health and dental
- Paid vacation
- A direct line to the GM and ownership — no layers, no politics
- Real scope to shape the role and grow with an expanding business
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
