About Us
West Island Music Academy (WIMA) is a dynamic and growing music school with four locations in Montreal. We provide high-quality music education to students of all ages and levels, helping them build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Music Teachers to join our team. While our greatest need is for piano, voice, guitar, and drum teachers, we welcome applicants who teach other instruments as well.
Position Details
- Opportunities for shifts on weekdays 3-9pm and weekends 9am-6pm
- Teach students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced
- Work in a supportive environment with access to school facilities, recital opportunities, and administrative support
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging one-on-one and/or group lessons tailored to each student’s goals and level
- Provide instruction in technique, repertoire, music theory, and performance skills
- Create a positive, motivating, and structured learning environment
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and exams (where applicable)
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents
- Contribute to recitals, showcases, and other school events
- Stay current with teaching methods and trends in music education
Qualifications
- Formal music education (DEC in Music, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Music Performance, Education, or equivalent experience)
- Strong proficiency in at least one primary instrument (piano, voice, guitar, or drums highly preferred)
- Prior teaching experience with children, teens, and/or adults
- Solid understanding of music theory, notation, and technique
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, reliable, and passionate about helping students grow musically
- Experience with early childhood music education is an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
