Job Overview:
Training Day Cafe is looking for a reliable and efficient Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for cooking and preparing menu items consistently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, works well under pressure, communicates effectively, and can manage multiple tasks during busy service periods without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Training Day Cafe recipes and standards
- Ensure food quality, portioning, and presentation remain consistent
- Operate grill, stovetop, oven, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Restock and organize ingredients and kitchen supplies as needed
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times
- Work efficiently during busy meal prep and service periods
- Assist with kitchen cleaning duties at the end of shifts
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations
- Complete tasks independently without repeated instruction
Requirements:
- Previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying organized
- Ability to lift 30-40 lbs comfortably
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking procedures consistently
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must have common sense, urgency, and the ability to problem solve independently
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time
