About MTX Technologies
MTX Technologies is a Canadian managed IT services provider supporting small and mid-sized businesses across Southern Ontario. We handle everything from day-to-day support to infrastructure projects, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity for our clients — which means no two days look the same.
We're a small, tight-knit team. That's deliberate. It means you'll get real exposure to the full breadth of an MSP environment instead of being siloed on one queue, and it means your work is visible and valued.
The Role
We're hiring a Junior IT Technician to join our service desk. This is a Level 1 role built for someone early in their IT career who wants to learn fast and grow into more senior technical work.
You'll be the first point of contact for many of our clients, triaging and resolving incoming tickets while escalating the tougher stuff to our senior techs — and learning from how they solve it.
What You'll Do
- Respond to client support requests by phone, email, and ticket, and log them accurately in our PSA system
- Troubleshoot Windows desktop and laptop issues — OS, applications, drivers, performance
- Support Microsoft 365 environments: user accounts, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Handle password resets, MFA enrollment, and account provisioning/deprovisioning
- Set up, image, and deploy new workstations and peripherals
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting — connectivity, printers, Wi-Fi, VPN
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians for guidance and help on solving an issue
- Travel to client sites in Southern Ontario as needed for on-site support and project work
- Keep documentation current so the next person doesn't have to start from scratch
What We're Looking For
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in IT, computer systems, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
- Solid working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365
- Genuine troubleshooting instincts: you're comfortable not knowing an answer and figuring it out
- Clear, patient communication with non-technical people — this matters as much as the technical skill
- Strong organizational habits and the discipline to document your work
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Willingness to complete a background check
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Previous helpdesk, MSP, or IT support experience
- Microsoft certifications (MS-900, AZ-900, MD-102) or CompTIA A+/Network+
- Exposure to a PSA/ticketing platform such as Autotask, ConnectWise, or Halo
- Familiarity with RMM tools, backup platforms, or endpoint security software
- Basic Active Directory and Windows Server exposure
- Experience with Mac devices
