Job Purpose/Mandate
The Process Engineering Support role will support the process engineering team by applying engineering theories and principles, completing moderately complex or contributing to complex projects in the design of process and support of products and tools in a manufacturing environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in “First Time Build” process execution and reporting of issues to Manufacturing Engineering.
- One of the requirements of the Process Engineer Support role is to monitor process performance through MESWeb and enhance through continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer Support will require the incumbent to assist in implementing continuous improvement programs to drive up the yields.
- Troubleshoots and analyze process performance problems. Provides technical guidance to less experienced team members.
- Conducts research into complex engineering problems to develop new operating policies, capabilities, and processes.
- Assists the Process Engineering team to deliver on accountabilities. Takes ownership for processes under his/her control.
- Help to create Process Assembly documentation which are called MAPs or visual aids, to identify for solder paste if lead or lead free, component polarity, label placement, pre-wave or post wave activities, press-fit and depanelization if required.
- Identify fixtures such as wave pallet, press fit tooling and carriers.
- To create panelization drawings.
- Performs qualification on new processes being introduced.
- Leads Quality circles.
- Implement and suggest engineering changes.
- Knowing mole profiling for ovens would be an asset.
Education and experience:
- Generally requires a college diploma in Engineering or a related field
OTHER INFORMATION
- The compensation range for this position is $45,000-$55,000annually.
