Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality products while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery, basic math skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties
- Operate extrusion machinery and equipment to produce plastic or metal products according to specifications.
- Monitor production processes, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment, including troubleshooting issues and conducting repairs.
- Utilize logic controllers and CNC machinery for precise operations.
- Fabricate components using hand tools and machining techniques as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Safely operate forklifts for material handling within the warehouse environment.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Extrusion Operator or in a similar manufacturing role is preferred.
- Familiarity with logic controllers, CNC machines, lathes, and other fabrication tools is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating dimensions accurately.
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
