Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Short Order Cook to join our vibrant food service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of quick-serve meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role requires a strong focus on food safety, quality, and timely service to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our customers. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure is essential.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items quickly and accurately according to established recipes and standards
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Serve customers efficiently, taking orders and delivering meals with professionalism
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow all health and safety regulations to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer safety
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
- Valid Food Safe Certification
- Familiarity with food handling, meal preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently during busy hours while maintaining quality standards
- Experience with food preparation equipment and kitchen tools is a plus
