Truman Homes is looking for a Construction Site Assistant. Knowledge of construction procedures, as well as the company product, you will ensure construction meets all specifications and quality requirements.
-Responsible for ensuring sites are ready for the next scheduled trade.
-Complete a multitude of tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent or the Construction Manager in a timely manner.
-Complete labour tasks required to maintain safe site access, including snow removal, pressure washing and debris clean-up.
-Skill set should also include drywall repairs, minor tape and mud repairs, painting and rough carpentry skills and proficient on hand tools.
-Able to use power tools with ease with minimum training required.
-Wood working/finishing skills. (Can adjust doors and hang door).
-The ability to work with your hands and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 pounds, carrying, and working outdoors in all seasons.
-Communication skills are a valuable asset in the position and include the ability to get your point across and ask pertinent questions.
-Need to know the process of how buildings are built; example what steps are done.
-Must have 2 years previous home building or multi-family building experience.
-knowledge of how to properly read blueprints and drawings.
-Knowledge of current building codes.
-Must be able to work in a fast paced, problem-solving position.
-Must have the ability to make decisions about quality and safe work on the spot with minimal supervision
-Ability to navigate and use office 365 including outlook, Teams, and excel.
-Able to work at heights.
-Able to work in confined spaces.
-Follow Truman’s guidelines of Quality Control Program and implement them on site.
-Very Strong work Ethic with extreme attention to detail.
-Ensure company safety policies and procedures are followed.
-Must have your own personal tools, steal toed boots, safety vest, hard hat and PPE
-Must have their own vehicle, a valid class 5 drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $58,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
