Duties
- Safely operate company trucks and vans to transport furniture, equipment, and other items to various locations.
- Load and unload items using proper lifting techniques, forklifts, or other equipment to prevent damage or injury.
- Assist customers with their belongings, providing friendly and professional service throughout the move process.
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly before transit to prevent shifting or accidents during transport.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to guarantee safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any logistical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and mileage for reporting purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience in moving services or warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification required for driving company vehicles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading tasks.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus, ensuring safe handling of large or bulky items.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, documentation, and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina and agility to handle demanding workloads in various environments.
