As we continue to expand our clinical services throughout Ontario, we are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and collaborative Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative organization focused on trauma-informed care, operational stress injuries, PTSD, resilience, recovery, and wellness programming for those working in high-stress professions.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of Registered Social Workers, Psychotherapists, and Wellness Professionals to support clients presenting with a variety of mental health concerns, including:
- Operational Stress Injuries (OSI)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Anxiety Disorders
- Depression
- Trauma and Complex Trauma
- Occupational Mental Health Concerns
- Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
- Veterans Affairs Canada Disability Assessments
- Return-to-Work and Recovery Planning
The role offers flexibility and may be structured as fully virtual, hybrid, or in-person depending on the candidate's availability and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and consultations
- Provide diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations
- Collaborate with psychotherapists and social workers as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in Veterans Affairs Canada assessment programs
- Complete medical questionnaires and supporting documentation when appropriate
- Provide medication consultation and management within scope of practice
- Assist with treatment planning and continuity of care
- Support development of specialized mental health programming for first responders and veterans
- Participate in case consultation and interdisciplinary care planning
QualificationsNurse Practitioner Applicants
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Nurse Practitioner designation with authority to practice in Ontario
- Experience in mental health and addictions preferred
- Experience with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and mood disorders considered an asset
Physician Applicants
- Current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Family Medicine, Psychiatry, or relevant mental health experience preferred
- Interest in trauma-informed care and operational stress injuries
- Experience working with veterans, first responders, WSIB clients, or public safety personnel considered an asset
