The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Yard Assistant to join our team. The mission of the role is to support seamless operations by cleaning, repairing and building portable toilets and restroom trailers, keeping workspaces clean and safe, and executing customer orders for temporary fencing and special events with professionalism and commitment to quality of service.
This position reports to the Operations Supervisor. We have a structured training program that includes training with the team on all equipment and repairs, cleaning procedures, and best practices for customer service.
We are located in Headingley, Manitoba. There is no bus service, so you must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Compensation: $17-20 per hour
What you’ll be doing:
Cleaning, sanitizing and repairing portable restrooms in the yard
Delivering, setting up and picking up temporary fencing systems with the team
Setting up and taking down portable restrooms at special events
Delivering and picking up restroom trailers
Organizing and keeping the yard and shop clean
Various other yard duties as assigned
The skills you bring:
Willing to work, eager to learn
Ability to lift 70 lbs and execute the physical tasks of the job
Previous work experience in labour roles
Ability to work outside year-round in all weather conditions
Willingness to actively communicate with the team and customers
Ability to work alone or with a team
Adapts easily to changes in the workday
Experience operating yard equipment (forklift, skid steer) considered an asset
Class 5 Driver’s License with driver’s abstract
