Job Description:
The Pharmacist will be an integral member of our pharmacy team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications. Key responsibilities include:
- Accurately dispensing prescription medications, ensuring precise dosage and patient instructions.
- Conducting thorough patient consultations to discuss medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Managing and overseeing the pharmacy's operations to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards of practice.
- Supervising pharmacy assistants and technicians, guiding them in their tasks and ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing.
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of medications and supplies, including monitoring for expired drugs and managing stock replenishments.
- Providing immunizations and other health services as certified and in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with healthcare providers, including doctors and nurses, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Implementing and managing health and wellness programs within the community.
- Ensuring strict adherence to ethical practices, patient confidentiality, and privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist licensure in the province of Alberta.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, with a strong foundation in pharmacology and medication management.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic patient care.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and technology.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of advancements in pharmacy practice.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
