Overview
We are seeking a skilled, dependable Field Install/Welding Crew members to join our field team at JAG Industries. This role involves assembling, installing, and maintaining structural steel and architectural metals on-site for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel construction-related tasks, with proficiency in blueprint reading, the use of hand and power tools, and experience with heavy equipment. In addition you would be CWB certified in SMAW, GTAW with the ability to weld in all positions and pass CWB S class. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, teamwork, and technical expertise. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment, adhering to safety standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately assemble structures.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during erection activities.
- Assist with concrete forming, finishing, and related masonry tasks as needed.
- Install structural components according to project plans.
- Conduct routine inspections of erected structures for safety and compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Operate machinery such as cranes or forklifts when required for heavy lifting or positioning materials.
Experience
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Prior experience working on large-scale erection projects involving steel structures and/or architectural metals
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to OH&S standards are essential for success in this role.
- Safety tickets (CSTS, WHIMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, Moving elevated work platforms, etc.), equipment tickets such as Aerial Work Platform and Scissor Lift, Forklift) are considered an asset.
- Handrail and guardrail experience a plus
- Valid class 5 license (may be required to to take your own transportation to site)
