Overview
We are hiring a Sales & Business Development Manager for an established business in the trades and home services industry located in Orangeville, Ontario.
This is a hands-on sales and business development role. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping drive revenue across the business, including equipment sales, customer follow-up, service-related sales, retail opportunities, and local relationship building.
This is not just a counter sales position. We are looking for someone responsible, proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of sales activity with support from ownership.

The company provides specialized products, installation services, maintenance, repairs, and ongoing customer support. The work is similar to businesses operating in areas such as:

- Water treatment

- Equipment installation and maintenance
Customers include homeowners, property owners, local businesses, contractors, trades professionals, referral partners, and repeat service customers.

Duties
- Handle inbound customer inquiries, proactively generate new leads through networking, referrals, community outreach, and local relationship building, conduct in-home consultations, assess customer needs, recommend appropriate home service solutions, and drive opportunities through to closed sales
- Meet with homeowners, prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and close equipment and service sales
- Build relationships with homeowners, local businesses, contractors, plumbers, realtors, and referral partners
- Manage leads, appointments, quotes, and customer follow-up while maintaining a strong sales pipeline
- Work closely with technicians, store staff, suppliers, and ownership to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through equipment sales, service work, repeat business, and referrals, while providing regular updates to ownership on sales activity and business opportunities
Requirements
- Experience in sales, business development, customer service, or a related role
- Experience in home services, plumbing, water treatment, HVAC, construction, renovation, property services, or trades-related sales is preferred
- Strong communication skills in person, by phone, and by email
- Comfortable speaking with homeowners, local businesses, contractors, and referral partners
- Organized and reliable with strong follow-up habits
- Able to manage leads, quotes, and customer conversations without constant supervision
- Responsible, proactive, and willing to take initiative
- Comfortable being measured on sales activity, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction
- Willing to learn products and services in great detail
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally when needed
Compensation
This role includes a base salary, commission opportunity, and the potential for profit sharing or equity participation for the right candidate.
- Base salary: $50,000 per year
- Expected minimum commission: $25,000+ per year
- Expected first-year earnings: $75,000+ per year
- Strong performance can result in total compensation of $100,000+
The commission structure rewards revenue growth, equipment sales, service-related sales opportunities, retail growth, and overall business performance.
Schedule
- Full-time, permanent
- In-person role in Orangeville, ON
- Monday to Friday
- Some Saturday or occasional weekend availability may be required
