Duties
- Provide professional hair styling services including cuts, color, treatments, and styling according to client preferences
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable styles or products
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas and tools to ensure client safety and hygiene
- Assist with retail sales by recommending hair care products and upselling additional services to clients
- Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and handling payments
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and positive reviews
- Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and product knowledge through ongoing education
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations
- Proven experience in hair styling with a strong portfolio of work
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and practices within a salon environment
- Ability to upsell products and services in a professional manner
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist at the front desk when needed
- Retail sales experience is a plus, demonstrating confidence in recommending products to clients
