Our client is a well-established and diversified organization with a long history across North America. Over the years, the company has continued to grow and evolve, operating across several business lines with a strong reputation for reliability and customer service.
The Senior Accountant will join a collaborative team in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment with exposure to a variety of accounting and reporting responsibilities. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking for a stable organization with interesting operations, a supportive team, and the chance to contribute beyond just the day-to-day accounting.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial reporting function, taking ownership of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while preparing financial reporting packages, reconciliations, and supporting working papers. The role also provides accounting support to both the Finance team and branch operations, assists with tax compliance, and leads the annual external audit and review process. In addition, the successful candidate will support the annual budgeting process, respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, and investigate and resolve accounting and reporting issues.
Beyond the core financial reporting responsibilities, this position offers the opportunity to gain specialized experience in fixed asset and lease accounting, including asset capitalization, disposals, lease administration, reconciliations, and reporting. The role is also well suited for someone who enjoys continuous improvement, as there is a strong focus on enhancing reporting processes, strengthening internal controls, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Working closely with the Financial Reporting Manager, the successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of the business while contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives and supporting the broader Finance team.
