Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Optician or Optometric Assistant to join our busy eye care practice. Duties
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear and demonstrate proper fitting techniques
- Take and record accurate measurements for glasses and contact lenses
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and explaining products
- Prepare and process eyewear orders, including adjustments and repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized optical dispensary area
- Manage patient records using electronic health record systems
- Support the optometrists with pre-testing procedures and basic clinical tasks
- Promote retail sales of eyewear, contact lenses, and accessories to meet patient needs
- Assist with inventory management and laboratory tasks related to lens fabrication and repairs
Experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred
- Experience with lens fitting or optical equipment is a plus
- Prior optical experience or retail sales background is advantageous
- Experience in sales can enhance patient interactions and product promotion
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients about their options and treatments
