Dick’s Lumber is looking for a detail oriented, sales driven and customer service-oriented team players to join our team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Expedites all special-order products throughout the system from when they are quoted and ordered to when they are delivered to the customer.
- Maintains contact with customers as to the status of their orders and advises when they are completed.
- Sources nonstock custom products from various vendor product lines for the customer.
- Supplies Inside, Outside and Counter Sales staff with accurate pricing on special order products as needed.
- Established cash or financing options and provides assistance to customer account inquiries.
- Processes all special-order returns both with customers and vendors.
- Establishes relationships with vendors for favorable pricing.
- Ensures that the correct products were received from the vendor and that the paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures product is clearly tagged with Customer contact information.
- Ensures that special order policies and procedures are adhered to, pertaining to payments, invoicing and billing.
- Maintains weekly sales reports on all sales activities.
- Performs other job-related duties as required including but not limited to purchasing and controlling inventory of certain stock items.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional service to customers and colleagues.
- Knowledge of the lumber, building materials, hardware, or construction industry is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to assess customer needs, recommend appropriate products, and provide effective solutions.
- 1–2 years of sales experience is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and contributing to a supportive work environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to dust, dirt and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outside.
