Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Walkie Operator to join our client in Caledon . The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating walkie forklifts and other heavy equipment to efficiently pick,load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
Shift Timing - 3pm to 11pm
Monday to Friday
Location - Airport Rd/ Mayfield Rd
Duties
- Operate double pallet walkie forklifts for picking, loading, unloading, and moving materials safely within the warehouse
- Assist with order picking, shipping, and receiving tasks to ensure accurate inventory management
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate heavy equipment while adhering to safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues
- Support warehouse operations by managing stock placement and retrieval efficiently
- Follow safety procedures during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift equipment in a warehouse or construction setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and order picking systems
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment and inventory management
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
This position offers an opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or construction background to utilize their skills in a dynamic environment. Prior knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with mechanical aptitude will contribute significantly to success in this role.
