Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver’s license, familiarity with commercial driving, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The Delivery Driver plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency of our supply chain and ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate delivery of freight, verifying items against delivery manifests or orders.
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or delays.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment or machinery when required for freight handling.
- Follow all safety regulations related to commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial driving or freight delivery is preferred.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus.
- Basic automotive repair skills are advantageous for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Experience with freight handling and logistics will be considered an asset.
