Freelance Chinese ⇄ English Translator (Remote)
Job Description
We are seeking reliable freelance translators to join our translation team.
Responsibilities include:
Translating documents between Simplified Chinese and English
Proofreading and editing translations
Formatting translated documents according to client requirements
Assisting with English correspondence and basic content writing when required
Working remotely on a project-by-project basis
Requirements
Good proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English
Excellent written communication skills in both languages
Ability to translate accurately in both directions (Chinese ⇄ English)
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PDF editing
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Translator designation (Canada or another recognized jurisdiction)
Proof of English proficiency (IELTS, CELPIP, TOEFL, PTE, degree from an English-speaking institution, or equivalent)
Experience translating immigration, legal, academic, or business documents
Compensation
Payment is based on source-word count.
Rates will be determined based on translation quality, experience, and project complexity.
Pay: $17.60-$47.87 per hour
