Summer Student - Business
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Summer Student - Accounting acts as the back end administrative support for the Business Administration team.
This individual will work out of our location at 337 Richmond Street, London Ontario.
This position is expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer season.
Priorities change regularly in this position and the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to change priorities as required.
Responsibilities
1. AI Integration & Process Automation

Research, test, and implement AI-driven applications to automate routine internal tasks and optimize day-to-day business workflows

Assist in evaluating current business processes to pinpoint operational bottlenecks, designing leaner, more efficient workflows integrated with AI solutions
-
Use automation and AI-driven tools to streamline data extraction and data analysis
-
Assist team members with newly deployed AI tools by creating simple user guides, documentation, and conducting brief training sessions to ensure seamless adoption across business verticals.
2. Financial & Operational Support

Provide operational support to various business verticals including finance, accounting, operations, and marketing.

Assist with data extraction, routine data entry, and budget forecasting while actively monitoring property-level KPIs

Help compile, organize, and format financial datasets to prepare them for deeper analysis and executive reporting

Assist the Senior Financial Analyst with managing virtual data rooms, organizing document flow, and performing preliminary financial analysis on property due diligence materials for acquisitions, divestitures, and refinancing.
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with generative AI tools

Strong analytical skills and knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles

Advanced proficiency in Excel and use of spreadsheets

Good knowledge of Process mapping and problem solving abilities

Good technical writing and communication skills

Currently enrolled in a Business or related program at a post secondary institution in Ontario
