Job Title: Airfreight Business Development Manager
Reports to: Country Head of Sales
Job Purpose
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Airfreight Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in generating gross profit and revenue growth by developing new clients and expanding existing business relationships. You will be responsible for aligning with our company's growth strategy and country sales budget, with a focus on international airfreight.
Principle Accountabilities

Win, retain and develop customers through sales "hunting" activity by actively setting the appointments for face-to-face sales meetings with Customers and following the schedule laid by inside sales.

Achieve a high win percentage of new airfreight business award while generating high GP margins for new and existing accounts which meet/exceed new business revenue goals.

Have continuous engagement with customers to maintain close relationships and ensure ongoing success with accounts.

Consult with several levels of decision-makers to understand customers’ business challenges and logistics goals.

Build rapport and trust with customers by being informed about customer’s business and the market and support customer retention through collaboration with all resources including our Product teams, other sales channels, and local Station Management.

Assessing the prospective account as profitable, significant or strategic in order to secure winning bids

Responsible for increasing gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new airfreight customers

Rigorous follow-up of offers and client development

Monitoring shipment cuts (lost clients) and implement counter measures

Ongoing key customer analysis

Execute strategic sales in line with company grows plan

Develop and implement strategies and tactics to meet and preferably, exceed the given targets

Ensure all sales activity (Meetings, Contact Reports, Opportunities and Leads) are reported within the CRM System “Sugar CRM” (according to SUGAR SOP)

Recommend solutions based on customer needs by using industry knowledge

Managing opportunities and risks securing the interests of Rhenus A&O

Taking part in all sales trainings provided and scheduled by Rhenus A&O
Skills & Education & Work Experience / Requirements
-
Requires a minimum of 3-5 years field sales in freight forwarding within international airfreight or 5 years of airfreight operational experience
-
University degree, or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible
-
Previous experience selling in the logistics industry, specifically in the areas of international airfreight, , priority freight and high risk/high value cargo is considered an asset

Fluency in written and spoken English

Good working knowledge of freight forwarding services, including ocean and air,
