Position Overview
The Puntledge Campground Host provides a welcoming and safe environment for campground guests and assists them with their needs overnight. This position will be responsible for administrative office duties as well as maintaining a safe campground for all guests. This position requires the successful candidate to live on site with their own trailer which must comply with the campgrounds existing rules and regulations including an age restriction of 10 years old or newer.
Key Responsibilities
- Check-in guests after hours (when the office is closed at end of day)
- Show guests to campsites
- Perform routine nightly checks after 10:00pm to ensure campers are adhering to our noise policy and to provide a friendly, reassuring presence to ensure rules are being respected
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including nightly cleaning of showers and laundry room and bathrooms while re-stocking bathroom supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers)
- Empty garbage and recycling as needed
- Ensure campground guests are following campground policies. Deliver warnings and follow-up with Campground Manager for any guest who does not abide by policies. Call police to remove the guest if required but advising the manager prior too.
- Complete nightly report and leave for day shift review/and action if required
- Other duties as required or assigned.

- Self-motivated, disciplined and ability to work independently as well as follow directions
- Ability to effectively multi-task, troubleshoot and manage stressful situations
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, and campground users
- Ability to display tact, respect and diplomacy
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and proficient with Excel and Word an asset
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness with an understanding of the current First Nations governance landscape and relevant socio-historical events relevant to First Nations B.C.
Working Conditions
- Able to stand, crouch, bend, kneel and/or sit for extended periods of time and repetitively
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds, climb ladders and work from elevation, and walk on varied terrain
- Working both in an office environment and in outside environment
- Work evenings
- Live on site
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
