D&D Dixy Trucking is a small transportation company; going on 43+ years in business. We operate mainly in the four western provinces of Canada.
We’re hiring a dependable, Class 1 Driver to join our team. This employment opportunity is for a highway driver. You will be required to haul 53' flat deck trailers with a variety of materials as well as a specialized 53’ van that requires portable stair setup/takedowns and turning on the generators. This role includes customer and public interactions, so clear English communication and a clean professional appearance is a must.
Job Requirements:
- Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
- 53' Van experience
- 53' Flat & Step Deck experience
- Electronic Log Knowledge
- Written and Spoken English Language
- Physically fit (ability to handle stair setups)
Job Expectations:
- Operate a Class 1 tractor trailer
- Maintain accurate electronic log books
- Perform inspections and safety checks
- Communicate with dispatch throughout the day
- Communicate with shippers, receivers, customers, and the public
- Provide light maintenance duties on site and in the shop
- Possess mechanical knowledge with the willingness to learn
- Must have steel toed boots & PPE
