Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gas Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining gas systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing, schematics, and mechanical systems, along with proficiency in welding and rigging. The Gas Fitter will ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of gas-related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain gas piping systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and industry standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute precise installations
- Perform MIG and TIG welding to secure piping and components as needed
- Utilize hand tools, calipers, and other precision measuring devices for accurate work
- Conduct rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy equipment or piping components
- Troubleshoot system issues using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills
- Perform routine maintenance on gas systems to ensure safety and functionality
- Comply with safety protocols related to plumbing, welding, and manufacturing environments
- Assist with construction projects involving gas fitting tasks in commercial or industrial sites
Experience
- Proven experience in plumbing, construction, or manufacturing environments involving gas systems
- Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, and general welding techniques
- Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical drawings
- Experience with rigging, maintenance, and troubleshooting gas or piping systems
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform precise measurements using calipers
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to gas fitting and construction projects
- Prior experience in plumbing or construction projects involving schematics or technical drawings is preferred
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
