What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols to assemble structural steel components
- Fit and align steel parts using clamps, jigs, and fixtures in preparation for welding
- Measure, mark, and cut steel materials to specification
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely
- Inspect finished assemblies for accuracy and quality
- Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and production staff to meet project timelines
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
What You Bring
- 1-2 years of experience in structural steel assembly or a related fabrication role
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable using measuring tools, grinders, and other shop equipment
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physical, hands-on environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A commitment to workplace safety
