Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Service Technician Journeyperson to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will help keep vehicles running smoothly by diagnosing issues accurately and executing repairs efficiently.
Duties
- Conduct thorough diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues across a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- Perform complex repairs on powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials, with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot systems such as ADAS, automotive electrical systems, and vehicle control modules.
- Repair or replace diesel engines, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Execute wheel alignments and suspension adjustments to optimize vehicle handling and tire longevity.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance tools effectively to complete repairs efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced, documenting diagnostics performed, parts replaced, and work completed.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and offering maintenance advice to vehicle owners.
- Stay current with industry advancements by participating in ongoing training related to automotive repair techniques and new vehicle technologies.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working on various vehicle brands.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and schematics interpretation.
- Expertise in ADAS calibration, alignment procedures, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Skilled in diesel engine repair and maintenance practices.
- Mechanical knowledge of powertrain systems, suspension components, brakes, and steering mechanisms.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals accurately and follow detailed repair instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance challenges.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
