About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and professional Part-Time Security Guard to join our team. This position provides security coverage for our manufacturing facility during non-operating hours and serves as a second support guard, working alongside the primary security guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, and able to respond calmly and professionally to a variety of situations while following established security procedures.
Schedule: Nights, Weekends & Holidays (as required)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the manufacturing facility and property.
- Monitor building access and ensure the facility remains secure during non-production hours.
- Support the primary security guard with routine patrols and incident response.
- Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious activity.
- Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation.
- Verify that doors, gates, and windows are secured.
- Assist emergency services, contractors, or authorized personnel when required.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or security risks to management.
- Enforce company policies and maintain a professional presence at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License (required).
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Previous security experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions independently.
- Comfortable using computers, surveillance systems, and mobile devices.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as required.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing facility during non-operating hours.
- Regular walking and patrols throughout the property, both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions while conducting exterior patrols.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
