Overview
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to support the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across our real estate portfolio. This dual-role position will involve working alongside construction teams during new development projects, as well as managing service requests and preventative maintenance in our existing properties. You will play a vital role in ensuring comfort, efficiency, and the operational integrity of our buildings.
Responsibilities
Development
- Participate in HVAC design reviews and provide recommendations during pre-construction planning.
- Oversee HVAC installation and commissioning for new development projects.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure systems meet code and performance standards.
- Conduct quality control inspections of HVAC work during construction.
- Assist with value engineering and product selection for HVAC systems.
Property Management
Maintenance & Cleaning
- Perform annual cleaning of all heat pumps and PTAC units.
- Conduct yearly dryer duct cleaning.
- Perform annual cleaning of air exchangers and other ventilation systems.
System Repair & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment, including heat pumps, PTACs, air exchangers, fans, thermostats, and controls.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs.
- Replace defective or worn parts and perform necessary adjustments.
Ductwork Maintenance
- Inspect, clean, and maintain air ducts and ventilation systems.
- Ensure ducts are free of debris, mold, and obstructions to maintain air quality and efficiency.
General HVAC System Servicing
- Perform seasonal inspections and preventative maintenance, Including filter and deep cleaning of indoor and outdoor units
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or improvements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and systems maintained.
- Provide detailed reports on equipment condition and future servicing recommendations.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and HVAC codes.
- Follow building policies and procedures while onsite.
- Use proper PPE and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Red Seal Certification or equivalent HVAC Technician license.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and service (preferably with both residential and commercial systems).
- Knowledge of local mechanical codes and building standards.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical plans, and technical manuals.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues.
- Experience in plumbing, welding, boiler maintenance, appliance repair, or construction is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
