Job Description:
Twenty Four Karats Plaza is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Retail Sales. Successful candidates will help provide a positive customer experience across our Liquor Store, Vape Store, and Café. Employees may be scheduled in different areas of the business depending on staffing needs, experience, and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate the onsite AM/PM and Shopify point-of-sale system efficiently and accurately.
* Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions while following proper cash-handling procedures.
* Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, professional assistance.
* Assist customers in the Liquor Store, Vape Store, or Café based on the assigned shift.
* Prepare and serve café items, including beverages, snacks, and other menu products, according to company recipes and procedures.
* Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and cleaning practices while working in the Café.
* Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, counters, equipment, and customer seating areas.
* Provide customers with accurate information about liquor, wine, spirits, vaping devices, e-liquids, accessories, café beverages, and menu items.
* Stay informed about new products, promotions, menu updates, and industry trends.
* Verify identification and follow all applicable laws and regulations related to liquor and vape product sales.
* Stock shelves, coolers, café supplies, and displays to ensure products are organized and readily available.
* Assist with receiving shipments, rotating stock, monitoring expiry dates, and completing inventory counts.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the Plaza.
* Collaborate with team members to provide efficient service and support daily operations.
* Complete opening, closing, and general cleaning duties as assigned.
* Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Perform additional duties as needed to support the Liquor Store, Vape Store, and Café.
Qualifications
* Valid ProServe Certification is required.
* A valid food safety or food-handling certificate is encouraged but not required.
* Strong customer service skills and a commitment to creating a positive experience for customers.
* Clean and professional appearance and demeanour.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
* Basic math skills for processing transactions and managing cash.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn about liquor, vape, and café products.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and complete regular cleaning, stocking, and lifting duties.
Experience
Previous experience in retail, food service, café work, customer service, or cashiering is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to suitable candidates.
