Gwaii Engineering Ltd. is an Indigenous-owned engineering and advisory firm working in partnership with First Nations, municipalities, and private- and public-sector clients across British Columbia and Canada. We are looking for experienced & talented individuals on the pathway to obtaining their PLEng, with roughly 10 years experience. Responsibilities:
Apply complex engineering knowledge, skills and principles, undertaking calculations, writing reports and developing designs using applicable standards for:
- Stormwater, sanitary, and water supply drawings in support of building core infrastructure for remote communities.
- Roadworks and multimodal transportation drawings including plans, profiles, sections, and corridors in support of improving urban developments in Indigenous communities.
- Integrated water and utilities servicing concept plans for subdivision, land development and zoning plans, including detailed design drawings to support approval applications, all to assist in delivering on much needed housing.
- Stormwater Management Plans and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans for improved environmental outcomes in enabling growth and development in Indigenous communities.
The role will also include coordination with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies and subconsultants, and the public, building strong relationships and representing our brand and our values.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience or interest in working closely with Indigenous communities.
- Experience with asset management and infrastructure modelling is highly desirable.
- Relevant degree or technical diploma in engineering, environmental science, or related.
- Minimum 10 years previous experience in civil engineering design and drafting.
- Complete proficiency with AutoDesk Civil 3D.
- Familiar with MMCD, CCDC and similar construction documents.
- General awareness, knowledge and familiarity with applicable engineering design and construction codes and standards in BC and Indigenous communities.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $80K - $120K
Salary and bonus structure is industry competitive and negotiable based on experience. Potential signing bonus and relocation expenses for the right candidate.
