Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role is vital to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and providing excellent service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for the hospitality industry.
This is intended as a growth position. When not tasked with organizing the dish area or cleaning, there are a myriad of prep tasks available. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or food service environments is a plus but not required. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in food handling, cleaning, and kitchen operations.
Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Support the organization of supplies and ensure proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Support the overall cleanliness and safety of the kitchen environment to meet health regulations.
- Assist with basic food handling and food service tasks when needed.
- Help with setting up dining areas or serving stations during busy periods.
Skills
- Strong cleaning skills with attention to hygiene standards.
- Experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food preparation, food handling, and basic cooking techniques.
