Role Overview
As the Shipping & Receiving Officer, you are the backbone of our supply chain. You will manage the accurate flow of incoming security equipment and outgoing shipments to ensure our installation teams and customers receive exactly what they need, exactly when they need it. This role requires high attention to detail, basic technical aptitude, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and verify incoming alarm panels, sensors, and hardware against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare and pack outgoing security systems, ensuring all components are labeled accurately for internal technicians and end-users.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect shipments for damage or defects, and meticulously document discrepancies or shortages to report to suppliers.
- Logistics & Dispatch: Coordinate with freight carriers and couriers, prepare waybills/customs paperwork, and optimize shipping methods.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and logical stockroom; perform regular cycle counts and reconcile inventory systems.
- Team Support: Act as the central point of contact for field technicians, assisting with daily material staging and equipment kitting.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory control environment.
- Familiarity with security systems, alarm hardware, or low-voltage components is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or Inventory Management Systems).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Forklift certification and/or valid driver’s license is highly preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
