Camp Cadicasu Association of Calgary—an established seasonal camp and year-round recreational centre serving children aged 7–17, school groups, and rental communities—is seeking a dynamic, community-minded leader to serve as Director.
With a strong legacy and annual revenues exceeding $1 million, Camp Cadicasu delivers programming that builds physical literacy, fosters environmental awareness, and creates meaningful, inclusive experiences grounded in fun, safety, and personal growth.
This is a three-year term (renewable through election), ideal for an experienced leader with strong professional networks and a genuine commitment to supporting a not-for-profit organization.
The Board of Directors provide organizational leadership, ensuring sound financial stewardship, strategic direction, and long-term sustainability. Day-to-day operations are led by an experienced, year-round Executive Director overseeing seasonal staff of up to 65, along with core operational, financial, maintenance, and administrative personnel.
We are seeking an experienced corporate leader who brings:
- Proven leadership experience and credibility in business or community leadership
- Board or corporate governance experience (preferred)
- Strong connections with organizations, partners, sponsors, and donors
- A passion for youth development, outdoor education, and inclusive programming
- A deep appreciation for building a culture rooted in trust, kindness, community, and well-being
Camp Cadicasu programs emphasize inclusivity, diversity, participation, and safety, while fostering a strong sense of fun and belonging. The organization also offers Leadership-in-Training opportunities for youth aged 17–19, supporting the next generation of leaders.
Commitment includes:
- Three formal Board meetings annually (virtual and/or in-person; up to three hours each)
- One full-day annual strategic planning session
- Participation on Committees (typically virtual, up to two hours per meeting)
- Collaboration with Board members, volunteers, and the Executive Director
Candidates should reside in the Greater Calgary area and be prepared to contribute both strategic insight and active community engagement.
The successful candidate will begin with a structured transition and orientation alongside the outgoing President, who will retire in April 2027.
